Unparalleled Moose, Bear and Deer Hunting in the Wilderness of Northern Alberta Since 1978 K. J. Guides & Outfitters has been giving hunters their own story-book hunts for black bear, moose, wolf, whitetail and mule deer. Our fly-in hunting camps are located in the Birch Mountains and Caribou Mountains in some of the most remote and beautiful wilderness areas of Alberta, Canada. Your host is Karl Johansson. Karl came to Canada from Sweden in 1970 and hunted all over Canada before deciding to give the discriminating hunter in search of that special trophy a taste of the true Alberta wilderness. This region is noted for its spectacular 'northern lights'. The community of
High Level (population 3,638), is the closest
town. Our Hunters arrive at the High Level Airport and then are transported by Beaver, Cessna 185 float planes or helicopter into camp. Recommended Equipment: We recommend 270, 30.06, 7MM, or 300 Magnum with scope and 40 rounds of ammunition. archers should have a draw weight of 60 pounds or better with heavy arrows and large heavy duty broadheads. Because the weather can change in a blink of an eye, you need to be prepared for any kind of weather. Below is a list of the gear, we recommend you bring to ensure your hunt is comfortable and productive. Waterproof clothing such as Gortex® or other similar clothing (Saddle Cloth®, Dry Plus®) are great in the field.
Since we use bush planes to get in and out of the hunting areas, we ask you to limit your weight of personal gear to no more than 70 pounds. |
